About The Golden Shell Company
The Golden Shell Company was created by a proud Ghanaian mum, to bring authentic African snails to the global table.
For many of us in the African diaspora, snail dishes are more than food. They are memories of family gatherings, street food stalls, pepper sauce simmering in the kitchen, and the unmistakable flavor of fresh snails cooked just right.
But outside of Africa, finding high-quality snail meat can be difficult. Fresh snails are hard to source, unknown time and cleanliness in the freezer at the local store, quick to spoil and often unavailable.
The Golden Shell Company was founded to solve that problem.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple:
To make premium African snails accessible anywhere in the world.
We work directly with farms in Ghana to raise and prepare high-quality snails using hygienic, careful, traditional methods. The snails are then cleaned, prepared, and freeze-dried — preserving their flavor and nutrients while making them easy to store, ship, and cook anywhere.
With just a few minutes of rehydration, our snails cook just like fresh.

Our snails are sourced and prepared in Ghana, where snail farming has long been part of the local food culture.
We believe that African ingredients deserve a place in global kitchens, and we are proud to share one of the continent’s most beloved delicacies with customers around the world.
